Services

I help students become insightful readers, engaging writers, and organized students.

As writers, my clients will improve their ability to generate ideas quickly, organize and outline logically, create loose, coherent draft(s), and revise with clarity for compelling written communication. They will develop and internalize a writing process that allows them to approach writing tasks with confidence.

As readers, my clients learn easy-to-access, common sense tools and frameworks to improve their comprehension, critical thinking, and enjoyment of both narrative and non-fiction texts. Drawing on my training from Lucy Calkins and Columbia University’s Teacher’s College, Nancie Atwell and the Center for Teaching & Learning, Kylie Beers, Robert Probst, and others, as well as 26 years in the classroom, I discover what works to maximize each of my clients’ reading skills.

Approaching school (and life) with a plan is important. I help students develop methods for scheduling their assignments and dividing them into a manageable set of do-able tasks. An effective set of study skills and habits helps students dig-into their work. Success leads to positive reinforcement, which leads to momentum. It just takes practice, and I can help.

I look forward to working with you!
